If you’re after those adorable chubby cheeks, button nose, and pouty lip photos of your baby, the ideal time to capture them is between 28 and 30 weeks of pregnancy.

You can still get them done either side of this timeframe, but here’s what to keep in mind:

• Earlier than 28 weeks: Your baby’s facial features may not be fully developed, so the detail and chubbiness may not be as visible.

• Later than 30 weeks: There’s a chance your baby may have turned into a position where their face is harder to see, and the amount of amniotic fluid decreases, which can make it more difficult to get clear images.

The key to getting great photos relies on two things:

1. Your baby being in a face-up position, and

2. Having plenty of amniotic fluid around them.

To help with this, start drinking plenty of water and stay well hydrated in the week leading up to your scan. Hydration can really make a difference in image clarity!

The clarity and detail of your ultrasound images can be influenced by several factors, including your baby’s position, placenta location, and the amount of amniotic fluid. Capturing beautiful facial images also depends on a little cooperation from your little one!

 If we’re unable to capture facial images during your scheduled scan, don’t worry — we’ll happily offer one return session to try again. To secure the repeat appointment, a $50 deposit is required at the time of booking. 

If no facial photos are obtained at the repeat session, there will be no additional charge. If we are successful in capturing facial images, the $50 deposit will be credited toward the total cost of your scan.

No deposit is required to secure your booking. We simply ask that you confirm your appointment by replying to the confirmation SMS sent 24–48 hours prior to your scheduled session.

Full payment for your selected package is required on the day of your scan. EFT payments are preferred.

You will receive the images and videos through Tricefy within 24 hours of your scan once the rendering and reconstruction of your images are complete. An SMS will be sent to your mobile when your package is available for collection. The team at Sonovis Imaging will be able to provide an estimated time of collection on the day of your scan.

Tricefy is a communication service licensed to Sonovis Imaging. The images and videos from your session can be accessed and downloaded to your mobile phone and computer through the Tricefy application. Tricefy is compatible with both Android and Apple devices.
